💪Rec Center Expansion

🏃 Big things could be coming to the Medina Community Recreation Center! The city and school board just gave the go-ahead to apply for a state grant to help build a new 7,200-square-foot indoor turf field house. 🌟 The project, estimated at $3.3 million, would expand space for sports, training, and rec programs while connecting directly to the existing facility. If the funding comes through, Medina athletes and families could soon have an exciting new place to play, train, and grow! 💪

😱Medina Alumni Big Screen Scream
🎬 Hometown horror hit the big screen on Friday! Medina native Justin Kohlas saw his chilling short film “Hide” premiere at the Nightmares Film Festival in Columbus after an earlier showing at Screamfest in Los Angeles. 😱 The Medina High School grad 👨🎓 turned Hollywood screenwriter started making backyard VHS movies as a kid and has since built his own production company, KimberMark, named after his parents. “Hide”, inspired by a real Guardian story on dark web cannibalism, was even nominated for Best Thriller Short Film at the festival. 👏 Kohlas says he hopes to keep bringing his passion (and future projects!) back home to Northeast Ohio. 🎥💚
